The rain barrel program provides residents the opportunity to purchase a high quality rain barrel at an affordable price. This important source of funds for Sustain Hudson funnels dollars back into the community through education and activities aimed at sustaining the earth’s precious resources.

Our partner, Boy Scout Troop 140, purchases and retrieves the barrels from Advanced Food Products LLC of Clear Lake, WI. This Eagle Scout Project sees that the barrels are cleaned, prepped and retrofitted with hardware. You may choose between plain barrels or primed barrels that are ready for paint.

The City of River Falls, in conjunction with River Falls Municipality, is offering a tax rebate on each barrel for city residents who install one of our rain barrels. There has never been a better time to invest in the art of water preservation.

Rain Barrel Information

  • All barrels are ready for use containing a spigot with a shutoff valve that fits a standard garden hose, an overflow hole near top of barrel, a lid with 5” hole to capture the rainwater and a locking strap to secure the lid to the barrel.

  • To easier attach to your garden hose, place barrel on 2-3” bricks.

  • Multiple barrels can be easily linked together if desired.
